Sirens

 

WHAT:
  • They are One Steady High-pitched Sound.
WHEN:
  • They are sounded when there are Outdoor Hazardous Conditions (tune into local media for more information).
  • Allegan County Sirens are tested the fourth Friday of the month at 11:00am unless there are adverse weather conditions.

 

What Should You Do?

 
TORNADO:
  • Go to basement, interior hall or bathroom. Leave mobile homes.
 
SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS:
  • Stay away from metal objects. Be alert for flooding, heavy rain, strong wind, and hail.
 
HAZARDOUS MATERIALS INCIDENT:
  • Know the quadrants where you live, work, attend school and church and the evacuation routes (primary and alternate) for each zone.
